BMW introduces their new hipster douchbag cruiser bagger wannabe POS: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tTs9lspSq0U (and I mean that in the nicest way possible)

Tell us what you really think of it! They even included the low, wide parts that limit the lean angle. But they seem to leave out the feet-forward style...never understood that.

I suppose they are just competing with the Valkyrie. It is hard to make six cylinders feel or sound like a big twin.

I'm all for "stemming the tide of mediocrity" talked about in the video, but damnation, do I have to do it on that motorcycle? Shirley, riding an almost 40 year old BMW motorcycle would be enough to keep me safe from that mediocre tide. Besides, I'm pretty sure that the "most interesting man in the world" also rides an old airhead. And like him I prefer Dos Equis. I may not be the very most interesting man in the world, but I'm pretty sure I'm the most interesting man on my block. And at times, if I have to, I can come up with a profound thought or two.

The Most Interesting Man In the World is too old for BMW's target demographic---35-49 year old wealthy divorcees (and their girlfriends) with no kids that any of them bother to think about.

BMW needs to give up on the cruiser thing.

That video was offensive in every way. The voice was so corny and the script kind of eclipsed the corniness of the voice. The bike looks stupid to me. The "evil eyes" look of the headlight have become a BMW trademark and I find it well, corny as well. Oh, I'm so bad. I'm riding on a BMW cruiser in my black leather jacket. And, did you notice how badass my headlights are?

In the words of Tom Petty: "I'm skeered. Ain't you boys skeered?"

One thing it has going for it is that it is really not any cornier than their last cruiser attempt.

I can see the comparo articles now. Ducati Diavel, BMW Concept 101 and Honda whatever theirs is compared. I'm feeling way too sarcastic and may be sounding harsh so I'll stop now.

On another forum, a side thread started on "Fifty Shades of Grey", which I had never heard of, until then.
I had, however, seen a similar movie, "The Secretary" (twice! ).
Anyway, someone posted this Spoof Trailer of the movie. I didn't make it all the way through (just like I didn't make it all the way through the Concept 101 video), but it looks like the same director.

(I hope that link works. I had to transcribe it from my phone here at work. TinyURL is blocked here, too!)

edit: link fixed - and not that different than Tim's.

Yep, more than anything, it reminded me of the guy that does those "True Facts" videos on Youtube. I kept expecting him to stop and say, "Whoa, what was that..?!" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F5FEj9U-CJM

Not sure about targeting well off divorcees.....they all looked gay to me, and that leather work stuff didn't convince me otherwise. I've gotta start hanging around with some real men, like those cool dudes on Triumphs and harleys...

It's called "Metro-Sexual." Once again, BMW is a little late in the game....
