The other night I stumbled on this internet listed advert just as it went live, "BMW R100 CHEAP QUICK SALE" so I rang and asked the question which the owner replied "Geeezz that was quick I just listed it 10 mintues ago"

We spoke for a while and I brought it, there were no photos of it at the time on the advert and well it was to cheap to let it go!!
70,000kms, new staintune pipes, it has a good quiet motor and gearbox so I'm told, and has been sitting for two months outside, the handle bars are aftermarket (he has the original bars and side covers ) as the owner has shoulder issues and was trying to put longer bars on it but then the cables were to short and he lost interest in it and has since brought a R80 sidecar.

The owner sent a few pictures yesterday and its all there at least and complete so that's a good start but yes It is a gamble and a roll of the dice mechanically and will be delivered from interstate on the 8th July.

Now just saying and nothings set in stone at this stage but if I was to swing open the shed doors in a year or twos time and out rolled something that resembled this pretty much exactly, would I be frowned upon by the good chaps on this site

I am a stickler for originality generally but the thought of owning a bike like this to throw the over and feel the ache in the lower back area increase ten fold real does excite me for some reason, over the top striped back cafe racers are normally not my thing but this bike just looks so very nice... your thoughts!!

Its only a shame when some mint low mile bike gets mods. Old hacks get a new lease of life from a tasteful makeover.
I dont normally like white paint jobs (cept GSs) but that one looks good.

Btw 1. I want to catch up with you sometime for pinstriping advice as i plan to respray old schtarker this spring.

btw 2 being a pedant but I dont think by 1981 they were designated as /7. Others might know better.

Personally, I love the modified S fairing and the Dover White, so it looks pretty good to me.

It'll be fun to see whatchew got Grant, at that price you can't go wrong.
If you do part it, the barrels would look nice on my bike but I don't think you have spares either, other than your new acquisition.
