Belt drive conversion for chain drive motorcycles

Yes ZM, I know all about chain oilers...
This discussion is for the purpose of determining if it is a viable alternative.
I have heard that a belt-driven bike works best when the output shaft is concentric with the swingarm pivot. True?
I also thought I remembered a belt not being as efficient as a chain, but this is the reply I got from the salesman! ( )
"belt drives transfer more power to the rear wheel because they're much less lossy than a chain with all those mechanical contact points and friction."
Thoughts?
