A little help please. My turn signals work well. They blink at the right speed. The problem is the dash light. Push the switch either way and the indicator light lights up then goes out but does not flash with the signal which is flashing properly. Any thoughts? Thanks.

You don't say what model and year your bike is. If it is a /6 or /7 then you likely have the complex turn signal flasher behind your headlight. This is the flasher that, when you pull the cover off, it looks like a transistor radio inside. It has a lot of complex functions and replacements are expensive. I've had a couple apart and fiddled with them and been overjoyed when the problem was gone--only to be disappointed when the problem returned.

Regardless of what flasher you have you will want to clean the contacts, both on the flasher and in the socket. The latter is kind of hard to do, but it still needs cleaning. You can rewire the flasher using a common three pin automotive flasher. So far I haven't do that because I've been able to resurrect the old setup or fit in a new old stock flasher.

Yea it's a 6. I've just picked up a Tridon el13 relay. I hope that will do it. Thanks for the reply.

you need to put a voltmeter (DC Voltage) on the output of the relay that sends a signal to the dashboard indicator.

If that shows pulsing dc voltage, the problem is most likely with the connector/bulb in the dash housing.

Wired in the Tridon EL relay and all is good!!

If you know a dental technician, ask for an old worn out tooth puller plier. They are perfect for removing and installing the slide on connectors inside the headlight shell on the /6 and later.

I have a spare pair and maybe I will pack them along on my upcoming trip to give away.

I am sorting out probably 1000 lbs. of hand tools. A few to keep and some for a friend and the majority for a garage sale this Saturday.
