Re: intermittent ignition
....The battery connections can be the culprit, if just slightly loose, or rubbed through earthing somewhere  From info supplied I doubt you have a bad battery cable but I'd confirm the quote. My R90 would die on me. Battery cable "looked" OK, but turned out to be the culprit. Deale...

Re: Front brake caliper rattle
Gidday back, grant81rs, I already owned the 76 in 1993 when I bought the K1100LT new in Austin. Its got 115,000 miles, about, and I've ridden it across the U.S. a couple of times, to the Northwest U.S. several times and to Fairbanks, Alaska. It now sports a Corbin seat, custom wound front fork sprin...

Solved - Re: Front brake caliper rattle - Solved
The caliper's movement up and down (in line with the slider) is virtually nonexistent but the caliper does rotate on the axis of the mounting/adjusting eccentric pin. A test ride over rough roads results in zero rattle. Further testing at speed indicates the front brake is working properly. Full app...

Re: Front brake caliper rattle
Cheap enough. I guess you mean something like Super Lube Synthetic Grease. Meanwhile, I'll take the caliper apart tomorrow (Hoorah!) per Bamboo812, above, I guess. Or, what is your opinion as to what Bamboo812 says? Everyone loves a quick fix, but I'm after the underlying problem, or, the eliminatio...

Re: Front brake caliper rattle
Bamboo812, I don't know. The dealer (Austin, TX) has done the work; they say the rattle is normal. However, I don't remember it being there before. I'll have to take the caliper apart to determine whether the washer and spring are there. I suppose that the presence of the rattle is not necessarily p...

Front brake caliper rattle
I read everything I could find here about front brake rattle but can't figure out if this can even be fixed or what the fix would be if it can. I'm to understand that the brake is a floating caliper; its supposed to move up and down on the mount. The annoying racket is worst on a rough surface. Appl...
