Easy! Perhaps, you should SLIGHTLY TWEAK, the Spring Contact Lever (whatever it is called:)......to create a more forceful pressure against the aforementioned electrical (cleaned?) contact. When you replaced the spark plug wires, did you ALSO REPLACE the Spark Plug CAPS?

While I have replaced the short bolts.....I have ALSO, reused the short bolts.....with no issues.
ALWAYS, spotlessly CLEAN THREADS and Blue Locktite....correctly applied.

I too, have had a completely melted Positive battery connection. Granted, this was on my 1985 Harley Davidson FXRT. HA! Anyway, brand new Deka, battery terminals seemed perfectly tight, to me. I have installed and removed many different car and motorcycle batteries over many years......Instant melt!...
