Re: Still...another fork seal question

Ok. Thanks. The guy I'm going to be using is a good local bike mechanic but hasn't worked on BMW's before. Better than me doing it though! LOL
No local BMW shop for several hundred miles from here so we're having to wing this and figure it out.
Thanks!

online parts?

Any suggestions for a good, trustworthy website for ordering parts for my R1100R? No dealer around here so I'll have to go that route. About to get those fork seals replaced and got to get them ordered.
Thanks!

Re: Parts list for replacing fork seals?

Uhm, What is it you want to replace? Your forks do not have the springs and damping built into the forks. You have a front shock absorber with a coil-over spring doing that work. The forks only serve to hold the wheel in alignment while the shock does the work. So, why is it you think you need fork...

Parts list for replacing fork seals?

Anyone had to do this on one of these bikes. I have a guy at work that use to be a bike mechanic at a local Honda dealership and has been working on the guys bikes at work for years now, but hasn't changed seals on a BMW before. I am going to have him do the fork seals for me on my bike but thought ...

Looking for advice on a windshield

Thinking of getting a windshield for my R1100R for the winter months and for trips. I have a couple questions about them though and was wondering if any of you guys had any suggestion or experience with them. I am not wanting something very big. Personally I love the look of not having a shield on t...

Re: Getting the bike on the centerstand

Looks like I am going to have to get some kind of jack in order to consistently get it on the center stand... I am pretty short and can't get it on the center stand very well. Any suggestions? I don't know what technique you might be using but here is what works for me. I find that putting th...
