Still...another fork seal question

Ok guys, sorry, I have another question I am hoping someone can help with on my fork seals.
My mechanic is telling me that I am going to need to replace #7 in this diagram because they are wear bushings. He is not a BMW mechanic, and hasn't taken the forks apart yet. He is just going by what he said the repair book is calling them. Are they something that HAS to be replaced? It is saying in the fische that their is 8 of these in the forks. That is going to add about $100 to my parts cost....

No you do not need to replace! You local guy does not fully understand how these forks work. unless this bike has a bazillion miles on it don't rxr. In 16yrs as a BMW master tec I have NEVER replaced a set! the book also says to rxr your wheel bng's every 20k nobody does this ...just saying

Ok. Thanks. The guy I'm going to be using is a good local bike mechanic but hasn't worked on BMW's before. Better than me doing it though! LOL
No local BMW shop for several hundred miles from here so we're having to wing this and figure it out.
