I was a mechanic at a Honda dealer when they were new. Great machine.
The bars are not original and the seat has been recovered with too much padding.

Re: horn relay
My way of dealing with horns and their relays for the last 50+ years is throw the goddamn things in the bin.
The idiots in their insulated cages on the phone, music cranked to the max, or other distractions are not going to

Re: I'm guessing it's time
Pistons measured parallel to the skirt at various depthts and 90 degrees from that. Measured in different areas to find the smallest measurement. Rings were replaced about 10 years ago and filed to give about .012" for the 1st and 2nd rings. Oil rings was set a little larger (maybe .015")...

Re: I'm guessing it's time
Finally took the cylinders off my '74 R90s last night. 129k miles and she's using oil, loss of power and pinging excessively. Lots of oil coking on each piston and head. Pistons and bores are original. No complaints. That's a lot of miles for an air cooled motor. After measuring the bores and pisto...

Re: /5 timing
Looks pretty close to me. What say you, robtg? The paperwork from Max BMW says its the correct sprocket. Can't say for sure, big difference in the adjusting screws, the split on the rocker support blocks are usually facing out. They look a little off to me but it may be just the slight angle of the...

Re: /5 timing
With the timing mark set at OT, check the pushrod height on the overlap side. If one p/rod higher than the other, the cam timing is off one tooth.---Assuming the cam and sprockets are the correct ones.

Re: Diameter size of the forks on a mono shock??
38.6mm = 1.519682" About a 1/2mm over 1/2". 38mm is more like a "nominal" 1/2". Just to be nit picking. :P Well, if we're going to pick nits, a "nominal" 2x4 is approximately 1.5" x 3.5", so if 2" gets granted 1/2" of latitude, I think I should...
