Re: Brand new issue….won’t idle down?
Butterfly on left card looks to be installed incorrectly. See how the previous mounting line on butterfly doesn't match the shaft.

Re: Renthal handlebars
A 7/8" inch bar is .016" bigger than a 22mm bar that the controls were designed to fit.

I am still thinking there is an alignment issue. Can you pull the solenoid and engage the Bendix from the lever that the solenoid moves to see if the teeth are in alignment.

Re: Valeo starter not engaging question....
When I have had issues of the pinon gear not engaging it was due to alignment issues of the starter being too low in relation to the fly wheel. Maybe shimming the starter upward can address the issue.

I saw the the source of the eBay items was EME, they have a good reputation as to the quality of their spares. You can always contact them directly by phone and talk to a tech to see whatever else they can offer in your repair.

Re: R65 blown clutch??
Maybe there was a failure of the bolts holding the pressure plate on the flywheel, sometime in the past in believe they were upgraded. Clutch contamination wouldn't involve much noise unless there was a delamination of the friction disk, most clutch problems I have experienced usually involved the p...

Re: 74 R90/6 Master Cylinder Switch
I agree with RPGR90S. The original 14mm under tank on my bike did not have a switch on the M/C, just the switch on the handlebar. The handlebar controls changed in 1975, so possibly later M/C had the switch moved from the handlebar to the M/C. When I converted to dual disks, I got a M/C from a 1974 ...

Re: 74 R90/6 Master Cylinder Switch
Parts fiche calls it a brake light switch, must be part of circuitry operating brake lights. Interesting that yours has no wires attached and brake light operates when front brake applied.
