How do you get a circumferential scratch??? Cylinder scratches are usually longitudinal, caused by a broken ring or a chunk of carbon riding up and down with the piston. Looks like a crack to me.

If you use synthetic oil and continue changing oil every 3000 miles you are wasting your money. The only real upside of using synthetic oil is that it maintains viscosity much, much longer than conventional oil.

Always use organic shoes/pads on cast iron drums/discs. Sintered shoes/pads usually have metallic powders in the compound to transfer heat faster to avoid fade. They are too abrasive on cast iron and use up your drum rather than wearing out the lining or pads.

Organic on cast iron, always!
