Welcome Dan, and WOW! Gorgeous bike and good work!

Two questions though:

1. What's a T.I.C.? Never heard of that model.

2. What do you call the new paint-job? There was daytona orange and silver smoke; I know there's gotta be a creative name for that purty red variation of the theme.

TIC indicates it started life as a police bike.

That is what it says on the speedo face " police special" I wanted to keep some of the history of the bikes. Speedo and single seat. The red is very close to the 81' Lava red.

Being my bike. I wanted it to be slightly different. It was also to stir up the purists , when they go. You got the colour wrong. Its not Daytona orange :)

I wonder how many in it's time - lots

One source says TIC is short for Touring Integral Cockpit.
Seems improbable but babel fish translates it to German as Touring integraler Cockpit.

I have to admit. This is my first low compression 1000 and I like it. Does not ping on 91 an is R80 smooth at highway speeds.

I did not count on was. How hard it is to read the police special speedo with all it fine graduations.
