Gidday,
So one of my pannier to frame latches on the pair that I have is stuffed and barely holds the pannier there in place, yes I strap them onto the bike also, so last week I went and brought from the Oz importer these replacement Hepco & Becker wizz bang, state of the art updated ones, especially made to suit the Krauser Classic Panniers.
Nice and newly packaged up ready to go, great service and excellent fast postage from them etc...
But they do not fit!! @#@#*&$%# after I tried a few times to locate one of them correctly this is the best and only place I could mount it, right to the edge, but then when it is done up on the frame the pannier is not sitting close up against the frame support, the clip keeps it about 10mm away at the rear (yes a little hard to explain, but basically they do not fit....
They are to wide for the recessed area where the old clip sits..
So would anyone have any spares in good working order of the old style clip/lock as pictured below that were installed on my panniers, not to fussed about them having keys, as I have never locked panniers in my life before
IF you do just send thru a PM to get the ball rolling

Re: Krauser Panniers - HELP!!
Gday Grant,
sounds like the frames might be the problem rather than the clips? Its hard to tell without seeing what you are describing.
There were at least two types.
Early ones were cast aluminium. I have those.
Later ones were steel tube, likely to be what you have?
I have been looking at the new Hepco & Becker versions and wondering how well their new frames and old panniers match-up, and vice versa.
I have two sets of old krausers and am just now fitting the less ratty ones. The old ones have clips but are probably so flogged to death (and matched to older frames) that I doubt they would be any use.
Can you modify the frames? Those new clips might be worth that.
cheers

Re: Krauser Panniers - HELP!!
Gidday,
Mal I have the older aluminum type, not the round bar type.
These new design clips would be good on the correct case, they are strong and sturdy but will not sit in the molded shaped recessed area where the old ones sat, they are to square and hit the case and can only go back so far..
The old clips that I have which are stuffed will not hold the panniers on the frame, it just drops off when on the side or center stand..
Chat soon

Re: Krauser Panniers - HELP!!
I believe that statement to be in error. My belief is that the 'squarish' aluminum ones were made by an aftermarket supplier (can't remember who, now). The round ones, at least back in the day, would be BMW made. I have both types and the bags have always fit both well.Mal S7 wrote:. . .There were at least two types.

Which doesn't do much to help you with your problem.

Pshew! Luckily you stopped me before I embarked on my own search. Of course it is possible I might have become distracted on my way. This seems to be happening more frequently, the older I get.grant81rs wrote:Gidday,
