2015 Autumn Boxerworks in Oz
Re: 2015 Autumn Boxerworks in Oz
I asked to knock off a few hours early on Friday and got the whole day off instead. Still won't help me catch up thursday night, but it will give me time to fish a few places on the way over to the Duck.

So you, Mal, Grant and me. Cosy! I'll see if I can find my wee axe!

We had an excellent night around the fire.
Here we are, packed up and almost ready to leave. Charlie at the left and Mal to the right.
Charlie's well sorted 90/6 loaded to go.
Charlie and Mal headed towards The Blue Duck Inn at Anglers Rest via Bruthen, Swifts Creek and Omeo where they were meeting Jeff and George. I headed home in the opposite direction, via Grants for a coffee.
The weather was excellent and I hope it stays that way for the whole weekend.

Re: 2015 Autumn Boxerworks in Oz
Just lost my post so here's a really short one.
Charlie and Mal arriving. What a splendid night at the fire. We have some of the best airhead roads here, and hardly any cars.
Beer and ice, eye fillet, camembert for later, and a sticky jam scroll for morning tea beside a stream.

All the cicadas are gone now Steve, but they'll be back next year.SteveD wrote:Too good Whopper mattress and a whopper esky!

Whopper bike man!
Couldn't even feel the esky on the back. The bike handles so damn well on the mountain roads when it's got a lot of gear strapped to it.
Brakes are ordinary but that's ok.
Riding these mountain roads get me busier than a telephonist at an exchange. Hands and feet going everywhere with such an ease, that takes not much thought to do.

Well I made it home by 7:30pm last night,
that was despite running out of fuel (for the first time ever on a motorbike) between Albury and Wagga.
Just 1 more litre and I would have made it the 15km to the next service station! I even layed the bike on its crash bars to see if I could get a float bowl filled, that trick got me all of another 150 metres on one cylinder.
Lucky it was a nice day.
I pushed for less than a km before a wonderful couple stopped, they had just been out buying a Ducati Multistrada and very generously fetched me 4 litres of fuel and wouldn't take any compensation. So, lets all be nice to Ducati riders, at least if they are named Paul.
It's been a fantastic trip, two weeks and just over 4000 kms. The best part was the last couple of days in the Victorian Mountains, wonderful roads, country and companionship, you can't beat that!
Pics and more later, right now I have a lot of stuff that needs cleaning.
cheers

Pushing a laden R100 a kilometre would be my version of an exercise tolerance test. Tell your cardiologist next time you see one!
I hope it was on the flat at least?
You sure did some good roads Mal. It was great to catch up again.
