Hi everyone,
Quick update on my GS project- I decided to rehabilitate the stock (1000cc) heads and did a valve job over the weekend. Might try to figure out how to use those perfect 800cc heads later, but not now.
The other set of heads I have, and will eventually install, are from a big valve RS. I have the matching 40mm carbs.
Somewhere I saw an article on how to convert the throttle linkage (new throttle cam, different length throttle cables) to work with the 40mm carbs. I think I need the set up and parts numbers from the European R100GS.
Can anybody point me to the posting about this?
Thanks,
Don

Re: 40mm carb conversion for '92 R100GS
Updating my own post. I found the web site that lists the cable lengths and suggestions, including the right cables for 40mm carbs on a GS- http://www.largiader.com/articles/cables/
The other half of the question is if I need a different throttle cam and tube so the cables get "pulled" enough to open those bigger carbs.
Thanks,
Don
