An over generalization ZM, some are very good, some are lemons. They handle very well and they're more reliable than Harleys.

In that case just as good as a new Harley. EFI and a well proven engine. They're just fine.
Let's just say that if I see a broken down bike on the side of the road, odds on it's a Harley.

That's because there are so many Harleys on the road. I've seen a lot of the new Enfields with major problems. They are really not all that well built from what I have examined. There are a lot more Hondas out there but I see broken down Harleys, strange eh ?
My limited experience with Enfields indicates some, a majority are just fine except for the starter motor sprag clutch which is a dog. Generally I like them, just bias I guess, they're kinda cool in a would of crotch rockets and bloated cruisers.

Apparently your world is very different from ours. I do not see more Hondas than Harleys on the road, regardless of total sales numbers. I see a LOT of Harleys on the road - I almost certainly see more Harleys than any other bike here in my area, and, in the last year or so, I think I've only seen 3 broken down bikes, and they were all Japanese (at least one was a Honda), but they were also all old bikes from the 70's or so. When I'm in other areas, I see different bikes. In the Seattle area and the Bay area, I noticed I see a lot more Beemers and sport bikes and fewer Harleys than I do here. In Sacramento, lots more sport bikes, but not more Beemers.
I haven't seen a Royal Enfield on the road in a year or two - probably because, for most of their production, they haven't been happy doing high mileage at interstate speeds, and that's what it takes to get up here (or, of course, they just couldn't get the thing started ). Even though there's lots of lovely roads for one to ride one around up here, getting here is best done on something designed to do a lot of miles on high-speed highways, which is probably why I see a preponderance of Harleys and Beemers, and the Hondas I do see are most often Wings.
I occasionally ride with my neighbor's club, and it's made up of about 60% Harleys, 20% Beemers, and the other 20% is a smattering of Japenese and one Triumph. The Beemers have had more issues than the Harleys on their really long rides - but a recent 3 day ride of theirs had two Beemers have their batteries die, so that may have more to do with the age and miles on the Beemers compared to the other bikes, or just weird luck - who knows?
So, apparently, what you see broken down in your area has a lot more to do with your area than the manufacturing quality of the bikes themselves. I don't know the explanation for why you see more dead Harleys. It could have to do with the average age of the Harleys over there. The huge majority of what I see are less than 10 years old, and 20 years ago, I saw a lot more broken down Harleys. Or, your road conditions may be harder on them than mine. I don't know, but the difference in what we see broken down on the road is definitely interesting.

I don't remember seeing broken down Harleys, but I've seen 3 in the ditch. I watched one go into the ditch right in front of me. It was weird.
