OZ get together this Spring?

This is for the discussion of Motorcycling. The art, the science, the theory of all things related to our favorite sport... riding motorcycles.

Almost certainly from a town that starts with 'N', I reckon.

It'll be good to catch up, Mal.
Please prepare some suitable bullshit stories for campfire entertainment. We might be relying on you for something fresh.
Bob probably see you before then, are you going to Maloneys tomorrow?

Charlie that shouldnt be a problem, I'm well versed in "tall tales & true from the legendary past".
Looking forward to it.

Yes indeed 'What a small world our massive mountain road network is.' I was on the Corryong road on Sunday but clearly didn't bump into you. In fact we barely saw anybody. We did the Corryong/Tumba(bloody)rumba/Jingellic/Granya loop and in 400 kms only had to pass two caravans and a truck. And, no, it wasn't because we were going so slow. Both my R65 and my mate's water bottle/water buffalo/kettle/GT750 went fabulously well. And what fabulous roads they are.

Cheers
Ray

ps You might want to consider the Quandialla pub and its small adjoining camping area for the Spring gathering. Or Ben Hall's Cave camping area just down the road. The roads in the immediate area are a bit dull but there's a range of great roads to the east.

That's a beautiful ride Ray.
I came through Corryong with Jim about 5 on sunday.

Riding with so few cars most of the time is what makes our mountain roads special, I reckon.
Sundays 450 k ride home from Mckillops was outstanding. My RS is such a sweet machine to operate.
Looking out through my helmet is a place that I like to go to......

Ray, thanks for the recommendation. Any chance you'll attend?

And O yes, love those roads when there is no traffic. FootyFinal Weekend is like xmas day - no bugger on the road.

I'm a very reliable person Charlie, so you can pretty much count on me not joining you yet again. I don't really have the gear or inclination for camping, but I am pretty good at talking bullshit. I used to help run The Beechworth Classic Motorcycle, Lawnmower and Rotary Hoe Show. Our advertising line was "Come and talk bullshit in friendly surroundings."

Nice write-up on the gearbox by the way.

Cheers

I met a nice Canadian (what other kind is there?) who tour/camps on a CBR125R with a 3-man tent, cot (tall enough to sit upon and get dressed), air mattress and sleeping bag (of course). I am sure he has a pillow in there, too.
Granted, his pace is leisurely, and when he rides with others, it is typically with those of similar displacement/philosophy.

I tried to duplicate his set up. I was overdue for a tent. It is a real nice 3-man Nemo.
The cot, while a bit large at 3 feet (just under a metre) long, folded, is a delight!

Just a suggestion! (the stars are so beautiful!)

I had a Howard with reverse gear. Used to shoot flames out each end of the muffler.
Wild bit of gear that one, hands goin' everywhere.

Gday fellas!

I done gone and lost meself in work-stew-too-much-world again. It snaps the synapses. Charlie just broke me out with a phone call. Did I hear right that the plan is now for a gathering on 28th November? And everybody can make it? (g'Day Mal!)

What about Tintaldra Pub again? That was a bloody good spot sure to please. Just a suggestion as I haven't read back through every post to see what ideas are being floated (but will instead in just a mo' try and see what Rob is talking about with this camping cot)

I am desperately in need of R&R so will try to take a few days either side to unwind. Looking forward to catchin' up.

cheers
