This is not a production GSPD,this is an earlier bike with a kit,makes a difference gents.Probably few complete bikes were produced 1985ish(anyone have a figure?)

From what the OP says, the bike is in New York, so it could get into the "What-Can-I-Get-With-My-Investment-Bank-Bonus?" range pretty promptly.

When does this value wave hit the 1975 R90/6 with no records (before 2007), no odometer at all, and a few small oil leaks.

It does have some upgrades though, like the ever popular windjammer faring, a /7 gas tank, and handle bar mounted MC.

I'm selling one of these fetish vehicles right now, the orange Westy in my avatar pic. It's priced fairly but hasn't moved quite yet. The potential customers are in two groups:

1. VW people who do not fear the mechanicals of a 40 year old vehicle, but find the price a bit high.

2. Non-VW people who have no problem with the price, but are nervous Nellies about keeping a 40 year old vehicle going.

I think the G/S in question is marketed to group #2 (substitute BMW where I wrote VW). And I think all of us here are in group #1!

I think next would be truly "rare," which the seller apparently claimed the G/S is, but it's not. After that is super rare, and crazy collectible, like a Mercedes 500k, or a Ferrari Daytona, and last is one-of-a-kinds.
