Man, that Omeo highway is a workout.
Great time again, thanks chaps. Good to meet Mal from the east coast too.
I went to bed when I couldn't find any matches to hold my eyes open any longer.
Nothing better than a comfortable bed in a tent with the sound of a river rapid to wash you away to tomorrow.
Until yer got to get up for a piss anyways.

Home at 6:45. Don't know what time I left but it feels like 100 hours!
Loved the first bit to Mitta Mitta. Good coffee and yes a bloody excellent chunky steak pie!!
Happiness indeed to be riding through gods country .... which ends abruptly at Wodonga.
Dust and wind and heat North of Wagga, combine harvesters tormenting asthma sufferers to death.
What else did I see ... ummm ... not a lot. It got better once through Bland Shire and a few hours close to home.
Can't complain the bike ran well and this red tastes good.
Fantastic to catch up with everyone. I want to move to North east Victoria!

Great weekend guys, very nice to meet everyone, and an interesting assemblage of beemers too.
"Rocinante" on the Tharwa Adaminbaby rd at Bradshaws hut
Another view of the camp site, my modest obode in the foreground
I had a great run down to Bruthen then over to Orbost, Cann River, Eden and home.
It bucketed down from Genoa to Eden then mostly fine for the remainder. I rescued the uke in plastic bags it survived and I arrived home only slightly soden at the edges. The Omeo to Bruthen bit was brilliant but the Princes Highway was pretty good also, I haven't done it on a bike for 20 years or so & had forgotten some of it's its pleasures.
Thanks again, until next time
cheers malcom

Re: OZ get together this Spring?
Another excellent night around the fire. Great to meet you malcom, and hzbloke almost by accident.
The "unexpected excitement" for me was when some bloke stormed up adjacent to me on the hwy yelling a bit. I pulled over, he stopped behind and ran up to me. "The wood fell off your bike and nearly f*ckin' killed me"! Ohh ahh! I looked over my shoulder to where my lump of fire wood had been and said "sorry". He walked back to his car, the load on the seat was still sturdy, so I continued on. Then it dawned on me..maybe the wood hit the car? He didn't say that though! So after stopping for 3-4 minutes waiting for the "bloke", rechecked the gear, I then headed to the next copshop and gave them my details just in case.
The wood had been secured adjacent to the other stuff and was secured by 5 straps. I'd checked it twice on the ride and it was fine. Nonetheless, it escaped and probably frightened the bejesus out of the poor bugger.
The last stint started at Bruthen, which was 197miles from home. I filled up with 19.5 litres just around the corner from home. Mostly 65-75 mph into a slight breeze, which picked up a bit for the last hour. 16.5 km/litre or thereabouts. Happy with that.
Great campsite, exceptional company and some great stories from Pete about his Eurasian ride.

Re: OZ get together this Spring?
Well done, all. Pete and I arrived at mine around 1:30 after a great run down the mountain with Jeff and George. What a lovely road - definitely engineered by a motorcycling enthusiast, I reckon.
Yet another very fine Oz BW gathering, with 9 good old airheads - 10 if we count Ray's. Good to catch up again, Ray.
Nice to meet Mal of BB too.
So, where next?

Re: OZ get together this Spring?
G'day Everyone,
Thanks for the fine company and very enjoyable weekend,
The trip up to MM was very nice, had a Sausage Roll and Coffee there also met
another Katana rider on his way to the Blue Duck because of the glowing report
from the Katana rider that we met Fri night. No probs on the way home except
pushed across the road by a Willy Willy just south of Lockhart.
Not sure whose hat this is, Mal from the coast or maybe Grants.
Thanks again for the weekend
Regards Bob.
