PICTURE OF YOUR BIKE/BIKES
Re: PICTURE OF YOUR BIKE/BIKES
Its from a British company called Keihan. They are nice, but but mine has always been a pig to put on compared with stock.

pxc433, did you know that BMW made a hip length jacket to match that paint job? It's a very nice jacket with zip out liner.
A friend of mine who lives in Orange, Calif. and came from England, had one of those bikes that was that color scheme from new. He sold it several years ago. I too, like that color scheme.

A floatbike .It only took me about 60 x 100 kg dead lifts to get her out.

Yikes! That would be quite a workout. I would have been tempted to dis-assemble the bike.Sibbo wrote:A floatbike .It only took me about 60 x 100 kg dead lifts to get her out.
Deep sand and I don't get on either. I'm pretty sure DucatiPete has some good pics of me and Brunhilde in various stages of not-being-upright on the sandy tracks at the Grampians.

Re: PICTURE OF YOUR BIKE/BIKES
I was a fool not to walk it first ....but of course it looked fine . She sank straight in , I unloaded the gear and the panniers and lifted the rear out of the hole and the sand ran back in. I started and walked her forward 18'', bogged again to the same depth . Repeat ad nauseum . Eventually I found a hard bottom and was out.
One unheralded advantage of shaft drive..... that coarse white granitic sand would have eaten a chain and sprockets before I got out and likely the clutch housing too.

The front wheel looks OK---might want to pack a bit lighter, though.

She looks heavily loaded but there wasn't much weight involved..... she dug into that damn sand just as well once unloaded. The softness of the sand was the problem.
