Do your shocks still work?

I have Ikon shocks, although there will be cheaper options.

I had Progressive shocks on my XS650. I really liked them, and they are fairly economical. They really transformed the bikes handling and ride. I was very happy with them once I got things straightened out. One had a slight leak and Bike Bandit eventually gave me a replacement. I must warn you though, Progressive will not return your calls or answer any customer questions. I was totally puzzled about that.

Ikon, YSS, Progressive...
Hagons also get a good rap usually.

Forsa is a brand that also make basic shocks similar performance to oem boge that BMW used. Probably as cheap as anything else around. http://www.ebolt.co.uk/shock-absorbers-159-c.asp

My progressives started leaking this weekend.
I will be shopping around for replacements.
How are the Ikons holding up Jeff?

I've got Hagons on my R100, much better than the worn out ones they replaced. I think Capital Cycle had the best price when I bought them.

You could take them off and remove the springs so that the dampers can be stroked by hand to see if there is any damping left. As with front forks expect rebound damping to be much stronger than compression damping.

Very well, considering the work out that they often get. Charlie has ikons too

You could try the TEC English web site, they have cheap and cheerful shocks , some BMW specific.
I have the top line fully adjustable piggy back ones which work well for me.
Old Konis are usually seized togerher and parts are expensive so rebuilds are most likely going to cost mere than a pair of the top line TECs.
