Hello,
I am planning on replacing the Center Bolt and lockwasher that secures the rotor to the crankshaft on my 1975 R60/6, specifically I am replacing parts 6 and 7 in the diagram below:

And my question is, am I able to simply unscrew the Center Bolt as is and replace it with the entire alternator/stator/rotor assembly intact? Is this as simple as removing the old bolt/washer and screwing in the new one? Or is there a dissasembly of the alternator assembly required to switch out the bolt?
I want to check with others before causing myself a headache.
Many thanks,
Ben

Re: 1975 R60/6 Rotor Center Bolt Replacement
I should have added that once you loosen it and it turns out, it will get loose, slide free and then it will reach a point where it gets stuck again. At that point, you should engage the second set of threads. Continue to turn until all the way out. There are two sets of threads...in the nose of the crankshaft and a set in the interior of the rotor. This feature is useful when there is a need to remove the rotor. Hopefully you're not doing that at this point.

Thank you for the clarification! I am simply replacing the bolt, NOT removing the rotor at this time.
Will feel my way through both sets of threads.
