With the big top hat left in place, there will be no difference in alignment between the two tyre sizes.
As mentioned it's just not a good mechanical situation to have all the torque going through a small contact area.
Most likely both the fd and wheel spline will yield until full contact is restored.
Good point! I would like to get back full contact with the rear brake shoes. The rear brake works fine as it is but better is better. You can see the two steps if you look closely.

Slight side track on this... Regarding pictures, as in ZM's picture above...how can it be viewed zoomed in for more detail? I see at the bottom is says "IMG.... Viewed 2 times". How was it viewed? I can't click on the picture to do anything. Is there something wrong on my end?

Now back to the regular discussions!

Yeah, have done that sort of thing. Still doesn't explain why the figure has been "viewed X times".

Thanks...Kurt in S.A.

I guess that is how many have seen it?

In order to upload the image to the forum I had to compress the image...a lot.

As I write this, it says viewed 10 times. So, everyone who comes to this thread "sees" it? Usually being viewed means it was clicked on so it could be expanded in another window which allows for zooming, scrolling around, etc. I don't get any of that action.

Makes sense, I'll leave the spacer as is. The ridge left on my brake shoes; does that need an adjustment. My rear brake works OK, I just noticed that it doesn't use the entire surface. :ugeek:
