r100 side stand repair

Post by bluesman »

The side stand on my "79 r100 has become wobbly on the pin and the pin is loose in the frame. The pin shown on Max"s parts fiche states that it is oversized and must be modified to fit. I assume that means it must be turned on a lathe? I haven't removed it yet so I don't know the extent of wear. Any suggestion's or idea's? I know the side stand has been discussed but I haven't seen anything about replacing the pin.
Thanks for any help,
Seth

Considering the hole in the frame tab is probably no longer round, you might just drill it (and the side stand) out to the size of the new pin.

Euromotoelectrics sells a repair kit - seems a little bit expensive, but thought I would pass this on. See link below

Thank's, I've seen that before but that is for the center stand, but I wonder if that would work on my Reynolds center stand that I removed because bolts and frame were stripped?
