Here is a valuable (but getting hard to track down on the internet) page explaining all of the changes made to the R65 over it's timeline.
I bought a new '79 in the Spring of 1980. The US did not get the LS until 1982. Is there any fairing on it?

Hi Rob,
Yes. Fairing is on it.
I love pictures also but it's stuck in the dark garage so not for a while.
