75/5 front wheel bearing removal.

Post by Cotton52 »

I am having a hard time removing the cover over the bearing on the brake side of my 1970 R75/5 front wheel, I tried tapping it out with a drift from the opposite side and also tried unscrewing the cap with no luck. I even tried heating the cap and driving it from the opposite side, no luck. Any good ideas of what I’m doing wrong????

Vincents had taper rollers too - and they actually gave you a figure, two thou, to preload them to.
