I love RAM mounts for things like my GPS, Warm & Safe controller, phone, etc. But, I hate the design and awkwardness of the 'clamp on' handlebar mount. They look out of place and, for me, are not a long term solution I could live with. I like to keep stuff original (I'm not a resto-weenie) but I also will modify parts to be more functional.
Usually one can just replace a handlebar clamp bolt with a RAM ball and longer bolt, but my /7 uses the 'tear-drop' handle bar clamps with studs, not bolts. So I took the top half of the clamp, milled a pocket in the forward end, got the correct RAM mount, and now use a long bolt through the front of the handlebar clamp, rather than the stud.
To me, it looks super sano and if I want to remove the ball, I just put a shorter bolt in the front of the clamp. I also have a little black anodized rounded plug which goes in the allen key hole, which finishes off the top nicely.
Here is a link (hope it works this time) for some pictures. I can do this mod for anyone, and include all the correct hardware (long and short 8mm bolts) and correct genuine RAM ball mount, for a small/fair price.

I like to see how your phone/GPS look like mounted from POV.
Any and all disclaimers may apply
Re: RAM ball mounts for my /7
Your setup looks very nice.
I had a R65, which had no ignition switch on the headlight bucket. I really liked RAM's 45° mount. I put it on the left headlight mount:
Later, it went on the top triple clamp bolt of my CBR250R:
