First Planned Long(er) Distance Ride on '80 R100T/7

Relatively soon this afternoon (about 16:00 GMT - 7), I'll be embarking on a ~200-mile round-trip on this bike. it'll be the first time I've intentionally taken it for a ride outside of purely for enjoyment/testing a tune/change.

This thread is primarily a place for me to kind of track mileage (would love to know this number) and compare it to past posts here that claim anywhere from 35-60(what??) MPG.

The majority of the trip will be highway miles, and I plan to keep it at around 65mph, with the tach pointing at around 3.8k-4k, if my memory serves correctly.

Within the next hour and a half or so, are there any tips that you might provide for ensuring the bike get's to its destination? Any long-distance quirks?

It's not hot, in fact, the weather here today is a cool 50 Fahrenheit (~9 celsius, if I remember my conversions correctly) and there's a slight mist/light rain, making for perfect long-range-full-protection weather.

I've got a waterproof jacket and shoes, pants will be relatively protected in motion from the fairing, and I'm actually quite excited to see the folks I'm heading to visit out at my destination (The same folks I obtained the Bike from in the first place, coincidentally).

In any case, I'm super excited to go, and wanted to share that excitement with those I know would understand the feeling, as well as garner some feedback on general things to avoid/expect.

Also, I figured I can share a few pics of her for those who appreciate seeing all types of Airheads in the Wild.

The fork gaiters need replaced or removed ASAP. They are now just a place for water to collect and move down the tubes. Good luck on your travels!

Naked 750, 99% stock. Mileage improved quite a bit a few years ago when I dropped the needles one step. Bike ran a lot cleaner at steady freeway speed, also.

I love feully! Been using it a while on my Spectra5, but haven't been driving this bike enough to feel that I'd get a ton of use out of it yet, but never a better place to start using! I'll be sure to start at my next fillup.

Based on my trip there on a full tank and the mileage driven, I was able to get an estimated 40mpg on the way out there. I have the ~6.5 gallon tank, and it took 3.7 gallons after driving 150 miles (a little bit of travel before the trip, and the trip out to the destination combined).

In any case, thanks to everyone who replied! I successfully made the journey there and back, and even got a chance to go on a nice ride yesterday afternoon around the Olympic Peninsula with my friends on their Buell. Some *super* stunning scenery out there.
