Excuse my ignorance (and the thread degradation) but what is the derivation of the term 'G-note'.

'G- note' means $1000 bill. The 'G' stands for 'grand'.
'C'- note means $100 bill. The 'C' stands for the Roman numeral 100, or the french word for 100 which is 'cent'.

In Canada, the $1000 bill was discontinued and taken out of circulation about 20 years ago when the gov'mint established that they were mainly used by dope dealers.The originals are still legal tender but extremely rare. Mint condition remaining ones are going for up to twice their face value on E-bay.

Overnight, people doing large cash deals, legal or not, saw the physical size of their "package'', be it a truck, a shoebox, an envelope or a wallet, grow to ten times its original size making it more difficult to transport, smuggle or hoard cash.

The largest bill here now is $100 so I should have stated that this year I again spent 10 C-notes on the PD.
Old habits die hard.
edit: $1000 Canadian is only $780 U.S. these days.

I am purchasing all my fasteners from a local fastening supplier here in NZ, all the frame fasteners I am using are 304 Stainless Steel, I hate the old rust prone crap BMW used in the original build and spoil the look of the bike.

Word of caution if you use Stainless Steel and are screwing it in to Aluminium be sure you apply some Nickle Anti Seize to the threads to prevent galling or seizure of the threads.

You should be able to purchase replacement fasteners from a local fastener engineering supplier.

That is a beautiful bike. We don't have the winter projects in Alabama. We only get snow once every two or three years. We have to fix ours on the side of the road.
