I have run in to an issue with the indicators following testing the electrics, I have rapid flashing. Now the lamps are all 12v 21W and the flasher unit is a Hella TBB44 DOT 4DB 003 425-01, 1-4x21W-12V
When I got the bike they worked fine but someone in the past had added an additional LED lamp to supplement the warning light for the indicators and glued it to the top of the instrument cluster, this I have removed.
The only thing I can think of since disturbing the wiring in the headlight shell is that the flasher unit is faulty unless I am missing something.

Re: R80/7 Turn Signals rapid flashing
I know this is a silly question but... are all of the lamps working? Classically, the in diocators flashing too fast is a sign that one of the bulbs has blown or the wiring is bad to a bulb. I realise that both sides are probably the same (they are aren't they?) but if you had, for instance, disturbed the ground path to the rear cluster, that would do it.

Hi Rob,
Somehow I knew it would be you to reply, yes all the lamps were working correctly and that's what had me puzzled as usually when a lamp is blown that is when they start flashing more rapidly. So I took the flasher unit in to work and rigged it up to work with the correct lamps and so on and it repeated the fault, so it was the culprit.
I have replaced it with a 3 pin flasher unit and all is working as it should, I have also replaced the lamps in the Spedo Taco shell with LED lamps except for the generator warning lamp, much brighter especially the high beam light you can now see easily (mine is in the rev counter) you can fail the WOF (read MOT to you) if not visible in daylight.
Am just now waiting for some parts for the front forks as in repair kits for the damper rods, even with fresh oil there was way too little damping to add to it the bump stops at the bottom were stuffed.
Cheers Rob, stay safe.

Re: R80/7 Turn Signals rapid flashing
Thanks for the update... I've gone down the LED idiot light route myself and, yes, they are a lot brighter... too bright in some lights so I am thinking about devising a panel light dimmer (although that would be quite complicated)...
I did the New Zealand trip a few years ago. Got as far out as Havelock but not as far as Nelson... Beautiful area.

Modern(ish) vehicles are equipped with turn signals that flash noticeably faster to alert you of a burnt out bulb.
Many similar after-market replacement relays will work but many won't speed up to inform you when a bulb is out.
Rob?...
