/5 blinker replacement?
/5 blinker replacement?
Is there a modern direct replacement for the blinker relay for my 1971 R50/5? $30 elsewhere but I was hoping for a local auto parts store replacement. Just asking. If I need to spend money I will! (one place wanted $104!)

Notes I have is a Stribel 9570. You might have to get creative with wiring to get the functionality.

Any auto parts store should have one for around $15.

As usual with BMW, it's never simple...
/5 machines have a standard 2 terminal relay and you can get just about any 2 terminal relay to work provided it is rated for the bulbs you are using (i.e. 21w + 21w +5w if you have stock bulbs). An auto store will be able to supply a suitable relay quite cheap. In the UK, I can source a suitable relay for GB£3.16 so I would think you'd find one for less than US$5.00 if you look around.
I don't know why anyone would want to charge $105, even for an OEM replacement, they are either sharks or were trying to sell you the wrong relay

Perhaps they need the cash to fund the videos...
https://www.vehiclewiringproducts.co.u ... sher-units about halfway down the page... At that price, it must almost be worth sourcing them from the UK... but... I'm sure you can find a better price near to home.
