New petcock pipe length?

Post by dwerbil »

Have received new replacement petcock pipes for my '84 RS. The main pipe is too tall for the tube screen. Is there a recommended length to cut it?

I think I have one in a box to measure...later.
On the twin fuel tap R100 81-84 24 litre tanks, there's a 1.5litre reserve per side. That of course could be customised.

According to Bing's site, the type 557 petcock has 77mm and 28mm lengths.

Looks like the spares I have are uniformly modified with new brass pipes.
My short reserve pipe is set to 13mm. Probably doesn't help, except to say the plastic pipes they had were prone to crack...and they're all old these days.
