AIRHEAD question

Post by gspd »

Just wondering...When exactly was the term 'AIRHEAD' coined and by who. We never referred to them as airheads back in the day.
I'm pretty sure it was invented when a name was needed to distinguish them from the newer 'oilheads' but i"m curious about who actually invented the name.

Also wondering who actually first uttered the words knucklehead, shovelhead, panhead, etc, etc.

According to Google AI…..

The term "airhead" for BMW motorcycles, referring to those with air-cooled engines, was coined by Al Watson in 1991. The term was popularized by the Airheads Beemer Club, which was founded in the same year by Al Watson and B. Jan Hofman. The club's first newsletter, "Airmail," also appeared in December 1991.

Just for once, Google AI is probably correct.
