I've used Time Sert repair kits. They are a little more expensive but work great.

If someone finds a good source for case savers....post it here. I imagine that with all of the high performance Porsche and VW engines being built in the world, there is a good source somewhere. I just did not find it. My understanding is that many of the new aftermarket VW engine blocks come with them already installed.

Time-Sert brand has worked well for me, also.
I have not experienced installation problems with them as per Frog's experience with "case-saver".

I was impressed, however, with Frog's diligent attention to precise alignment of the inserts.
With that and a Time-Sert kit, I do believe his task may have been more easily accomplished.

+1 on TimeSerts but also enjoyed Blaize's attention to detail and documentation.
