Hey guys:

I have a quick question.

I am trying to mount a camera remote switch on the left hand control of my slash five. This is to trigger a helmet camera...new toy.

I will post some of my trial photos if you guys are interested.

My goal is to put the switch in an ideal spot, so that I can take snapshots when I am riding in a manner that requires both hands. All of my previous in motion photography was with one hand on the camera and gets a little dicey in some situations.

My challenge is to find an M10X1.5 LEFT hand thread bolt. I searched my normal online sources, but no luck. I don't have a stock mirror in sad enough shape to butcher and I do not want to mess up the threads on the control. Another thought is to use a smaller bolt inserted from the inside, if there is room.

Any ideas?

Some Japanese (Yamaha I think) bikes from the 70s used 10mm stud mirrors in Lh and RH thread. Try your local bike boneyard.

Frog, the photo imparts a feeling of motion.

Garnet's idea is pretty cool. Take a mirror stalk and braze onto it whatever you need. If you don't braze, I'll be happy to do it for you.

Cool shot! What camera gear are you using? Just another thought, would it be possible to mount the red switch under the stock switch, so you could activate it with your thumb?

Drift HD170....helmet camera.

The remote switch is about the size of a calculator watch (remember those?). In that shot, I have it strapped to the handlebar, but I have to move my hand over to reach it. With the bracket that I am making, I will be able to reach it by moving only my pointing finger. I thought about a thumb location, but I like to keep my thumb wrapped around the bar.
