Hey Guys, those are stock rims with Firestone Vintage tires - not harley!

I can build you pipes or whatever else. Just let me know....
The front forks are fine as well, just need to be modded a bit to function properly, no biggy for someone who knows a bit about motorcycles. If you want, bring the bike to me and Ill get'er all fixed up for ya for a decent price.
As for the wheels, Im building an r65 racer as we speak and I happen to love the snowflake, pretty cool in my opinion. My best advice is not to make the bike look like another bike but to let the bike make itself. Look at it and study the lines and figure out what it needs to make it better - in your mind. If you copy thats just what it turns out to be!
When I made my bike I tried very hard for it to look like a better version (in my mind) of what the stock bike should look like but a bit Hot Rodded out. Every little idea and inspiration came from the bike stock, just fitted to my taste - thats pretty much it. I love BMW's as well all motorcycles and it was important to me not to bastardize such a great bike.
Anyhow,
With the minor modifications I did with the new mikuni carbs, air box, decent pipe system and modified baffle I could ride the heck out of that little Beemer and it would keep up with 1200 sportsters all day without a hitch.
As for the bigger wider tire - you can cut a bit out of the shaft and re-weld it to fit another inch or so, but thats allot of work for such a little thing, but all in all thats what will make it yours. If you are thinking about doing it any other way I wouldnt,Im not a big fan of off setting a tire and never will be.

Thanks for the compliments guys, that bike was something stuck in my head for over fifteen years so it was sort of a dream come true.

@whitehurst, i sent you an email through this forum. I don't have your internet mail address. I'd like to talk with you. Maybe we could work out a wheel trade? Where are you located? I'm in El Dorado Hills, CA which is by Sacramento.

I do have my own vision for the bike. It is similar to what you built. I'm much more open to chopping and modifying. I want simple and matte, flat black. No Chrome, no shine.

Where can I get a set of wheels like that and will they fit on my r90?

Why would I want to trade my wheels???? :?

Anyhow,
To fit a pair of laced wheels on your bike will have to find compatible shaft drive that uses laced wheels and start from there. Then more than likely rebuild the wheel and powdercoat. Pretty simple really...

Because your building a r65 and you love the snowflake.

In any case, if you can share details I'd appreciate.

Hello friends, thanks again for all the insightful information. I have many leads I'm now following. I look forward to learning more from this community.

This tire looks cool and seems to be the "stock" size

4.00-19 Firestone ANS Military Tire

Anyone have pictures to a 1974 to 1977 r bike with these tires?

Your assuming my r65 had laced wheels! No they come with Snowflakes...

Good Luck on your build.

Is your intention to increase the bike's performance, or its looks?

For me, the only reason to mess around with these parameters is to improve the performance of the motorcycle. I have executed a few tricks to install wider rubber, but only on those bikes that have modified engines, creating have the need for more contact patch to get that hp down to the pavement.
It is expensive and difficult, but when done to the motorcycle that can benefit, it is worthwhile.
Otherwise, the bikes work best with skinny tires.
Sorry, I'm too much of an old goat, and I'm too quick to dismiss things that are just for show.

I don't want my bike to look like anything else. That's the point!
