They do count as history lessons....lessons on the history of cultural fantasy and myth.

And thanks for posting the original question, Sunbeem. My airhead must also live outside under a waterproof cover, and she gets a bit foggy as well. I appreciate the advice. I'll be applying a few of these fixes myself.

Ok... you started it...

four points...

1) If We Brits (and, yes, the French and one or two other insignificant 'old world' countries )hadn't stood up to National Socilaism when we did, the whole world would have been under the sway of the Swastika and the Rising Sun before the good old US of A woke up and realised there was a world beyond its shores...

2) You don't have to thank people when they are doing things for a profit...

3) Although it's very unfashionable to say so, Russia (yes that's Soviet Russia) had far more to do with winning WWII in Europe than the USA, Britain and all of the Western Allies put together.

4) What makes you think you (or we) for that matter won.

OK, that's probably a bit harsh but lets have a bit of realism here shall we. The USA didn't win WWII, it was won by the allies as a whole... thats Britain, Russia, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, India, China and many other countries... and, yes, the USA. We probably couldn't have done it without you... you sure as hell couldn't have done it without the rest of us.

I have every respect for the people of all countries who went to war for what they believed in but, if you read the history, you'll find that the 'Hollywood' interpretation of events is wrong in just about every way.

Rant over...

Rob
On second thought: if the Nazis had conquered the mainland of Europe, then the Yanks would have set up shop in the British Isles and defended England and Sunbreams scrawny butt.

You are great, Robin. We don't see you here as much as I would like.

I vote we ban ZM from the forum for bringing political rants and personal insults to the main board.

I thought ZM was already bad. If we also bad him, does that make him really bad, bad ass, super bad or just plain naughty?

And if all it takes is for me to remove my Ron Paul bumper sticker, I will, happily.

He's a musician.
If you say he is "bad", that's a compliment.
e.g. - "He plays a BADDD bass".
I've spent most of my money on women, motorcycles, and beer.
The rest of it I just wasted.

This is what I would do. The PO of my 1975 R90 left it under a tarp for two years. It was covered with rust. The PO says that all of the rust came in the 2 year storage period.
