On the road again!

Post by bbelk »

My neighbor Jack and I left yesterday, leaving from Austin and headed for the Around The Bend rally in Terlingua Tx. We meandered through the Texas Hill Country for about 300 miles yesterday and ended up here at the lovely Best Western in Del Rio Texas. It was about 20 degrees F when we planned this trip and hotels seemed like a good idea at the time. Its 75 degrees outside this morning. Indoor plumbing rocks!

I am drinking free coffee and working on a well used public computer in the hotel lobby waiting for Jack to wake up, so there will be no pictures and probably no updates until I get home in a week.

We sleep in Fort Davis tonight! Then some hot springs a little west of the sunset and then east back to Terlingua. We are guessing around 1,500 miles and unless we go into Mexico, we will never get out of Texas.

The sun is rizz, the sun is set, and here I is, in Texas yet.

It looks like there's some pretty severe weather heading my way.

I'm having to redo my route and a new departure time.
I guess I'm going to head south away from the storms first, then work my way west.

If nothing else, I'll just be late.

Ah, motorcyclists actually out riding motorcycles. Good to see, gents.
Have a great ride and stay safe and comfortable. Please take lots of photos and post them.

It was a fantastic drive of about 1,550 miles. We saw two mountain ranges, an outdoor hot spring full of women, and tons of wonderful roads.

Nice travel report. I'd ride with you to that mythical spring of enchanted women.
I always brake in corners and think how I am going to get home if I really mess up. When I get home, I wished that I hadn't used my brakes and should have ridden a bit further.

Excellent, Brad. Clearly there are Greybeards out having fun all over the place over there (UpOver).
Have a safe riding season, all.
