Yeah, I'm also curious about the Michelins.
I'm not really concerned anout mileage, I want handling/performance and comfort.
The Lasertecs are a great classic tyre but I'm ready for something ,ahem, modern....
Bridgestone BT-45 Tire sizes
Re: Bridgestone BT-45 Tire sizes
I put a pair of the Pilot Activ's on my 77RS. So far, so good. haven't pushed it too hard yet, as the weather is just now warming (but it seems to be constantly raining here in NJ!).
I use the BT-45V tires on my Mystic and love them. Push them pretty hard and often wind up with no tread left on the front sidewalls, but ok in the center. Get a little cupping on the sides, but I think it's more related to the front fork dampening.
I've used the Mac50's on my 77RS, R90S and '73 Triumph, but decided to give the new Mich tires a try instead of the Bridgestones.

I found the BT 45's squared off to quickly. I normally use the Lazertechs.

Add a me77 to that list too ime.
How does the lasertec rear fair in the same contest?
A new/good bt45 rear hangs on as well as the mac tho'. ime

Re: Bridgestone BT-45 Tire sizes
The Lasers will square of like any other tire (if you don't grind down the sides...).
It's the front tire I have issues with, it really does grab rain grooves and such. Otherwise handles well.

Re: Bridgestone BT-45 Tire sizes
I remember past discussions about rain grooves but I can't remember what tyre/s were suggested as a solution.

Re: Bridgestone BT-45 Tire sizes
In general, modern tread designs do best, with models that have no continuous center groove being the best of the best. Ribbed are the worst.ME 109 wrote:I remember past discussions about rain grooves but I can't remember what tyre/s were suggested as a solution.
