I REALLY don't think that would be a wise move. Both the /5 and the /6 models should only have one black wire to the starter relay (according to the diagrams).chipsdad wrote:holy hanna montana, I would buy you a case of the cheapest beer available for these drawings. hope they work. My relay has one black post but two black wires. I am assuming I will have an open green post and double up the black wire at the connection. Right??
You need to find out where these wires go before connecting them up. The green wires go to switched battery positive so connecting a stray wire to them will send battery volts who knows where. Could be a short and expensive experiment.
Assuming the loom is stock, the wire you want goes to the starter solenoid. If you pull the wire off the back of the solenoid, you will be able to check for continuity and identify the right wire. Where the other one goes is anyones guess... its not impossible that there may be a spare connector in the loom that does absolutely nothing, intended for some aftermarket accesory or it may be connected into some other circuit.
Possibly the best way to do it, if you can't work out where the other end goes, is to wire all those connections you can identify with some certainty, switch it on and see what doesn't work.
