The neat little throttle lock dropped out on the road somewhere so I reckon rather than a real on it's going to get a cap screw as a replacement .I only use it to warm her up in the morning anyway .
What's the thread ? 8 mm metric fine or larger ?

You may want to reconsider after learning that I use mine all the time. It allows me to use my right hand. I wouldn't be able to wave to Harley riders if not for it. That's reason enough.

Edit: Ooh, just thought of this: If you use the wrong thread dimension it will be a new form of thread degradation here on Boxerworks!

Get the original, you really should be using it for any touring type riding.

Come on ,tell me the thread size Duane .I could buy another one but I was rather disappointed that it just dropped out on the road.

Did you have the spring on it? I find it helps to keep it just shy of touching when not in use. If you crank it out too far the spring won't hold it.Sibbo wrote:Come on ,tell me the thread size Duane .I could buy another one but I was rather disappointed that it just dropped out on the road.

It has a spring on it, and a spring loaded nylon button in the hollowed out end.
If you just use a screw it will wear a grove in the die cast twist grip PDQ.

I can happily fit a disc of HDPE in first with a spring on top , I have boxes of springs .

I don't understand how locking the throttle on can be a good thing.
Just sounds dangerous to me.

Re: Throttle lock thread ?
Get a scrunchie, shove it in between the grip and the throttle housing. It'll work. Don't tell the women in the family 'bout their scrunchie though!
