I have the same front fender but mounted backwards to the fork brace.
Now it actually fends.

Is it a 800 or a 1000?
Either way, fun bike eh?

Very fun indeed; an r80g/s.
Had some time today: valves were out of adjustment w/ exhausts being tight(of course), changed all fluids which came out clean w/ some swarf on gearbox and final drive plugs...plugs looked odd(glazed?) but it runs real nice/strong, timing spot on both at idle and full advance. This 800cc is subtley different from the 1000's.
Squeaky-clean but w/ thick residual ,oily crud in the crevices; I get the feeling this was rode hard, put up wet and later(recently) resurrected-looks like frame & swingarm have been powdercoated,ALL fasteners were torqued exactly to factory spec and IIRC the PO mentioned his purchase was from a bmw tech...
Now I just need to find more places to ride as I've worn a rut in the local seasonal roads already...
