O M G!!!!!......Yes, my favourite brewski.....yes indeed!
And the old wooden case for 24 of the god's delight....fantastic! Those would certainly be collector's items...need one of those!
I fell (staggered actually) in love with Moosehead back in the 60's when I worked for 2 summers at the Fraser Paper logging operations in New Brunswick during my higher education years. The logging operations were in the Kedgewick area around the Restigouche river. The preferred drink after (s)logging all day was the locally brewed Moosehead. We drank gallons of the stuff. While alcohol was a no-no in the camps, everyone had their hoard of Moosehead and other delights. Days off were spent in bed (at least for me) nursing wicked hangovers and swearing to any gods that were listening, to never touch the elixir again...until the next day! Geez what memories come flooding back thinking about those days and ol' Moosehead.
The Restigouche river was one of the premier salmon fishing rivers in the world, rivalling the mighty Miramichi and others...many days were spent flyfishing , drinking Moosehead and eating salmon grilled to perfection over an open fire...can still taste it! But the blackflies and mosquitoes I would like to forget....brutal!
Due to archaic, stupid laws in Canada...only beer brewed in a province could be sold only there, so when I would return to Ontario Moosehead was unobtainum being only brewed only in New Brunswick

So, anytime I headed to the Maritimes I would pick up a supply of the bubbly.
Finally, the stupid, f***ing laws changed and Moosehead could be sold in Ontario, so my prayers were answered...Mooshead I can get at the local beer store!
But, my beer guzzling days with Moosehead are almost over, prostate cancer surgery a few years ago kinda altered my love of beer, the new plumbing couldn't take it anymore....wine no problem..beer not so good....however the beer fridge is stocked for guests and family and Moosehead is front row and centre. I saviour one every now and then and remember those days in the camps....but not the blackflies and mosquitoes!
Thanks for posting that ...the memories are great!
