100/7
I wanted a factory sidestand, so ebay was my friend a year or more ago.
Already dealt w/ converting the Reynolds to a factory, including re-tapping, etc.
I've left the sidestand in the drawer because short of moving the motor up, down or out, I can't see how to install it.
What am I missing?
Barring that, tips/hints/tricks?
Ok Gents, the sidestand
Re: Ok Gents, the sidestand
I haven't done it on a /7, but I think you should be able to remove the bracket in the way, the same bracket that the side stand and center stand springs attach to, and then it should be able to slide off. On my /5 there is a notch in the case and oil pan to facilitate removal. To remove the bracket, unhook the springs and remove the front left engine mount nut and tap the through bolt in enough to remove the bracket. Assemble in the reverse order

Re: Ok Gents, the sidestand
I was able to remove/replace mine without lifting the engine.
I've spent most of my money on women, motorcycles, and beer.
The rest of it I just wasted.

Me too. And I replaced the counter sunk head bolt with a slightly shorter one.dougie wrote:I was able to remove/replace mine without lifting the engine.

As I remember - yes.lrz wrote:Same method as Tim describes?dougie wrote:I was able to remove/replace mine without lifting the engine.
The spring thing is on the front engine mount bolt and also serves to keep the stand in place on its pivot. Once the engine bolt is backed out it can be removed and the stand slid off the pivot.
