I thought Chris Carr held the two wheel land speed record at 350mph: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tZpJlnQBXgs

Maybe Warner's record has something to do with wheelbase length. :?

Dunno. Warner's looks more like a motorcycle than Carr's, but neither would do well around town! :D

I'm guessing the LSR crowd have all sorts of classifications.

Chris Carr is fully enclosed in his streamliner. This guy climbed on like us regular folk. Indeed, the LSR people have mucho many classes.

The venue is an old military airstrip in the far North of Maine--they have just over a mile to get up to speed, then the trap, then just a mile to stop. Better traction than Bonneville (where Carr did his thing), but a LOT shorter. B'ville usually has five to seven miles available for racing.
Call me Mel. Some years ago- never mind how long precisely- having little or no money in my purse, and nothing particular to interest me at home, I thought I would ride about a little and see the other parts of the world.

Yeah, I guess they call Warner's bike a "conventional motorcycle", so his must be the 1st conventional motorcycle
to top 300mph.....
