Tyre irony

Post by ME 109 »

Well, so much for getting a Metz enduro 2 on the rear for my outback trip.
The useless freakin' son of a bitch in the bike shop let me down. BIG TIME.
I ordered the tyre 12 freakin' days ago. "Yeah, should be here tomorrow, Yeah, should be here tomorrow, Yeah, should be here tomorrow, etc, etc.
I could have walked to Melbourne and back with the tyre in that time.
No apologies, just a dumb fuck, shit eatin' country grin.
The dick I spoke to today said "Errrrummmmerrrr, once we've ordered the tyre, it's out of our hands" WTF?
I told dick, 'when the tyre does arrive, you can shove it up your shit eatin' country grinnin' ass.

These bike shops in Albury have all let me down over the last ten years in one way or another when it comes to tyres.
I've been given a tyre with approx 70 psi in it, a front tyre with 30% of one side not seated, the list goes on.
So, from now on not one red cent will be spent in this town on my bike.

The 40% worn tubeless Mac50 will be my rear tyre for this trip. I will take my tubeless repair kit, and a tube, and my bead breaker.

Right, now back to packing the bike.

I didn't sound too pissed did I?
Good.

Nah, just the right amount of properly ticked off and ready to shoot someone.
I've spent most of my money on women, motorcycles, and beer.
The rest of it I just wasted.

I recall ME saying he was taking a "rock making kit" rather than an actual rock. This would probably contain a little bag of cement and a small bottle of water, as you can't make cement with beer...

I could take some cement I 'spose and make a rock.
Just learn some martial arts, and use the heel of your hand. It will hurt but you are supposed to pretend that it doesn't.

I guess I could make money selling rocks to Australians.

Major Softy: Rider's Warehouse catalogs are full of funny stuff. I need to buy something from them again, as they've stopped sending their catalogs to me. I know it's on the web but I like reading their catalog. And they have run several essays by Rand Rassmasson who has my old R65 seat on his R65 and is a good writer and who won't join the R65 forum.

The main stand trick does work... or at least stands a chance of working... with a pre '84 machine but don't try it with a mono. The stand will collapse and you'll end up trying to lift a one wheeled bike back up off its side. Not something you want to try more than once!

Thanks for the tip Rob. But you know, after reading your warning, I don't want to try it even once.
