How do I run a /6 without instrument cluster?

I reckon you'll just need to put a 2 or 3 Watt lamp from the blue hose to the green/black hose so your alternator feels happy. Everything else is optional so don't connect any of them unless you want to put a lamp in for oil pressure or indicator idiot light or whatever. Don't go joining wires - just leave them unconnected.

I've never worried about bleeding the hoses and so far haven't had any problems. I do have a lot of empty jars and tin cans on hand to catch the escaping electrons from any unplugged hoses. I use a little funnel to pour them back into the system so they don't go polluting the environment.

If you've let them dribble out all over your garage floor you might need some help to herd them into a corner. I normally deputise my cat for this if he's in the right mood. You'll need to get some sort of suction device to catch them into a container. Don't just suck them through a hose into your mouth - they leave an awful taste. Don't ask me how I know this.

ps: I keep a bucket handy under all the electrical outlets in my house in case some careless bastard leaves the switch on when they pull out an electrical cord. You can't be too careful about this sort of thing.

Tim, it doesn't seem the direction you are heading but you could put in a unit made by ElectroSport that replaces the diode board and voltage regulator. It's a little smaller than the diode board and mounts outside the engine casings. With that unit, the charge light does not need to be in the circuit. I have one in my Cafe and I don't even remember why I chose to go with it. It has worked well and I think it's a cool deal.

If you google Electro Sport, they'll come up.
