I seem to have a leaking electrical hose, I noticed a puddle of electrons on the garage floor last night. What is the recommended repair procedure for a leaking electrical hose? And how do I bleed the hoses after repair, I can't find a bleeder anywhere?Airbear wrote:I reckon you'll just need to put a 2 or 3 Watt lamp from the blue hose to the green/black hose so your alternator feels happy. Everything else is optional so don't connect any of them unless you want to put a lamp in for oil pressure or indicator idiot light or whatever. Don't go joining wires - just leave them unconnected.

Re: Electron leak
I've never worried about bleeding the hoses and so far haven't had any problems. I do have a lot of empty jars and tin cans on hand to catch the escaping electrons from any unplugged hoses. I use a little funnel to pour them back into the system so they don't go polluting the environment.Steve in Golden wrote: I seem to have a leaking electrical hose, I noticed a puddle of electrons on the garage floor last night. If you've let them dribble out all over your garage floor you might need some help to herd them into a corner. I normally deputise my cat for this if he's in the right mood. You'll need to get some sort of suction device to catch them into a container. Don't just suck them through a hose into your mouth - they leave an awful taste. Don't ask me how I know this.
ps: I keep a bucket handy under all the electrical outlets in my house in case some careless bastard leaves the switch on when they pull out an electrical cord. You can't be too careful about this sort of thing.

Ah now Daniel, I don't know where you got the idea that Oz is godless. It's a perfect spring day here and I know for a fact that God is sitting atop the nearby hill with his mixing desk. He's just brought a flight of white cockatoos screeching over my house in a delightfully comical way. He wears a black teeshirt with a BMW logo and a rude message that I couldn't possibly repeat on this forum for fear of offending the obviously delicate sensibilities of the inmates. He smokes an awful lot of old-fashioned multi-paper reefers and laughs and laughs and laughs. Who could blame him, given the outrageous rumours that abound about Him and His circle of friends?DanielMc wrote:

It's okay She'llbe, I didn't mention anything about the God that sits atop Mt Nardi. Your secret is safe with me.She'llbe wrote:

I've used it as a reeference too Tim, and all I get is smoke.Tim Shepherd wrote: I've saved your wiring diagram for future reference.

Tim, it doesn't seem the direction you are heading but you could put in a unit made by ElectroSport that replaces the diode board and voltage regulator. It's a little smaller than the diode board and mounts outside the engine casings. With that unit, the charge light does not need to be in the circuit. I have one in my Cafe and I don't even remember why I chose to go with it. It has worked well and I think it's a cool deal.
If you google Electro Sport, they'll come up.

I liked the workshop and the model airplanes...nice lathe, too.
BTW guys, it is not the loss of electrons that get ya...it's when the smoke gets out.
Then things get dicey.
