That's come up a few times over the years with my '84RS and /7.

I tried new O-rings and setting richer mixture settings and it did not improve the idle drop.

But all the messing with the mixture and throttle stop settings I decided to set up my balancer and check out the sync. What I noticed was when then balancer was hooked up there was no fluctuation in the RPM's, it was rock solid and no dip return from high RPM's.

I had just bought this bike and it was just covered in oil so when I was cleaning it up I decided to remove the Pulse Air system. I bought the R1100 drain plugs for the heads, flywheel inspection plugs for the air box and hunted down the appropriate screws for the carb balance ports. Being anal I put some nitrile O-rings on these screws. Wrong! Removed the o-ring and the screws are sealing fine.

Man are the 800's ever smooth.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

Native/5: The carbs that came on the '71 R75/5 when I got it were 64/32/3 & 4.
I don't know when (month or year) they changed "officially".
