Back in the day we found that a few new bikes would exhibit a stumble. We finally traced it to the sheet metal that holds the wire that goes down to the condensor and points. It is up high under the front cover. It would vibrate at some rpm and short out against the case. We just moved it by bending it a bit. It only takes a couple of mm.
Ask the Indians what happens when you don't control immigration.

Yamaha make a " Fuel Stabiliser & Conditioner Plus " specifically for motorcycle use.
They claim that deals with all the nasties, cleans , stabilises, protects , etc, etc.
The word is that current fuels , particularly E5 and E10, go off pretty quick, and chucking $1- worth of this stuff into the last tankful before you leave the bike standing for any more than three to four weeks would seem like cheap insurance.

I've been using Seafoam in my bikes and boats for years, we ride all year round so no real storage issues. On my little Boston Whaler with a 40hp Johnson that sits out side year round it made a big difference, especially after the 10% ethanol addition in all of our fuel.
Note: I don't use it all the time on the bikes, every fifth fill up I'll put a little in, the boats get it on every fill up, much harsher operating enviroment.

On the subject, yes as MS said easy to replace, but DO be careful to not pinch the wire!!
AND the advice to get a good one to keep on hand is likewise really important. New ones sometimes are "bad" too.
I used a cap. (for my /5) from my '67 Dodge junkpile and it works fine...All that really matters is having a long enough leadwire to make the connection at the points.
Gas: All the alcohol in the gas means there will be water also. It won't want to separate out as much as it used to. A load of bad gas (contaminated with eater) usually gotten just after a period of hard rain will cause bad running. Another one of those "Ask me how I know this" items. Water used to separate from the gas but now it wants to be in solution...sometimes too much of it. Runs poorly to say the least.
