OK. the original '79 tranny had a felt ring and groove(?)...and those parts will be used in the salvage one. The parts list I have is rather indistinct about which pushrods have a groove and which ones don't. I almost think it was random for the transition time.
/5's idea to use grease to make the seal stay in place should work...
Has the "new" tranny showed-up at your doorstep yet?

I talked to the shipper a couple of hours ago. He dropped it off at his UPS 3rd-party station last Friday. I may get it before the end of the week?Jean wrote:OK Rob. It's September 13.

So, wouldn't a nice bike lift come in handy for when you receive that new tranny?

As long as you have it (for sale), it will be in my mind, Scot.Scot wrote: So, wouldn't a nice bike lift come in handy for when you receive that new tranny?
But I live such a nomadic life, I can't see taking on something bigger than my refrigerator!

You must have a pretty small refrigerator!
Besides . . . the lift has wheels. Just tie a rope to it, and the other end to yer bumper!
Re: Rob Needs a New Transmission
I still want to get over to Columbus to see my step-son, so it could still happen.
I got a H.F. catalog last week (or so) and saw the "sale" prices. Yes, Scot, yours is a steal.

I'll have to get that catalog. Maybe my price will go up!
